Privacy Policy

How information is handled when you read HeaterFixer, use the virtual guide, or call an independent plumbing company through this site.

Effective date: October 17, 2026

Who operates this website

HeaterFixer is a website that provides water-heater information and connects calls with independent plumbing companies. HeaterFixer does not perform plumbing work. It may receive compensation for calls that connect with an independent company. This Privacy Policy explains information handling when you visit this website or use its call links. The company that answers or receives a call is a separate business and has its own privacy practices.

Information handled when you visit

The website does not provide contact forms or account registration. It includes an on-page virtual guide for general water-heater information. When you open the guide, your browser downloads a curated knowledge file from this site. Text you enter is compared against that file on your device; the question and conversation are not sent to an AI provider or included in a request to the website. The conversation remains in the page until you leave or reload it. A session-only browser storage flag prevents the welcome invitation from appearing again in the current tab after it has been shown, opened, or dismissed; the flag contains no personal information and expires when the tab session ends. Like most websites, the hosting and security services that deliver these pages and the knowledge file may process basic request information such as an IP address, browser and device details, the page requested, the time of the request, and the referring page. These records may be used to deliver the site, troubleshoot problems, and protect it from abuse. Retention of hosting logs depends on the hosting provider.

Information related to calls

When you choose a Call Now link, your device opens its calling application for the number shown. If you place a call, your telephone carrier and any call-routing or measurement provider involved may process your phone number, call time, duration, routing or campaign details, and connection status to complete the call and account for the referral. HeaterFixer may receive call-related information from those providers. The independent plumbing company you reach will receive the call and any information you choose to share with it.

A request may be shared with one or more independent companies that can handle it, including companies that may contact you about it. When you provide a phone number or ask to be contacted, you consent to be contacted by phone or text at that number, including through automated technology, about your request. Consent is not a condition of any purchase, and you can ask a caller to stop contacting you at any time.

Call recording

The website itself does not record audio. A telephone carrier, call-routing or call-tracking provider, or an independent plumbing company may record or monitor calls, and may give an audible notice at the start of a call. Some places, including Illinois, require the consent of everyone on a call before it is recorded; where that applies, the responsible party is expected to give the required notice. If you have a question about a particular call or its recording, ask the party that handled it. You can decline to continue a call if you are not comfortable with how it is being handled.

Cookies, analytics, advertising, and call tracking

This website may use cookies and similar technologies for basic operation, security, and, where enabled, measurement and advertising. If analytics, advertising, or call-tracking tools are in use, those tools and their providers may receive information such as an IP address, device and browser details, pages viewed, and the site or ad that brought you here, and may set or read cookies or similar identifiers. That information can be used to measure and improve the site and to attribute calls and other activity to a source. If call tracking is used, a call may be routed through a tracking number so that it can be measured.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and can block or delete them; doing so may affect how the site works. If the site offers a cookie or consent preference tool, you can use it to make choices about non-essential cookies. As of the effective date, the site does not use these tools to create user accounts or send marketing emails.

How information may be shared

Information may be handled by the website host and security providers; analytics, advertising, or call-routing and call-tracking providers that help measure the site and connect and account for calls; any independent company that receives or is offered your request; and service providers that help operate the site. Information may also be disclosed when needed to protect the site, address fraud or security issues, comply with law, or respond to a valid legal process.

Depending on how the site and its partners operate, sharing call or contact details with independent companies that can handle a request may be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under some privacy laws. Where that applies, the choices described below explain how to opt out.

Retention and security

Information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including operating the website, connecting and accounting for calls, maintaining security, and resolving disputes. Service providers may apply their own retention periods. Reasonable safeguards are used for information under our control, but no internet or telephone transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can browse the informational pages without giving personal details, and you can choose not to place a call. Depending on your location and the information involved, privacy law may give you rights to know what is collected, to access, correct, or delete it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also have rights to object to or restrict certain processing and to data portability.

To ask a privacy question, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, or to make another request, use the contact details on our Contact page. You or an authorized agent may submit a request. We may need to verify your identity and will respond as required by applicable law.

Children’s privacy

This website is intended for adults dealing with a water-heater issue. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information during a call, contact the independent company that handled the call.

Links to other websites

Some pages link to equipment manufacturers, public agencies, or other external websites. Those sites are operated by others and are governed by their own privacy policies. Review their policies before sharing information with them.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the website or its information practices change. The effective date at the top identifies the latest version. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
